The Boat House - Street Food on the Beach
Last summer, the Boat House in Newquay reinvented itself for socially distanced dining by the harbour beach. We were lucky enough to spend some time there, eating and drinking and really loved the relaxed atmosphere and great selection of different food to try out.
So we were really please to hear that the Boat House Street food will be back again this summer from the beginning of May. With tables on the restuarant terrace, undercover in some of the old lobster pools and on the beach, there is plenty of space. There is also an efficient one way system operating at the bar, with individal food outlets providing buzzers to notify you when food is ready so that you don't have to queue and wait.
My daughters favourite streetfood was defintiely load a waffle for waffles topped with a serious load of sugary confection. We also tried the seafood paella and crispy pizzas from the Wildfood kitchen, tacos from El huichol on the hill down to the harbour and local fish and chips from the main kitchen, (not all at the same time). All tasted so good!
We also stopped off and grabbed a box of cakes from Kern of Kernow one day. They definitely tasted as good as they looked.
The best thing about about this streetfood pop up is that everyone in the family can order something different. It is really easy to just order and you can enjoy a drink from the bar while you wait. From the website, It looks like it is going to even better this summer!
